According to our local business anniversary expert Pauline Bartel who developed The Bartel Years™, the symbol for a five year business anniversary is wood. What an amazing coincidence that our 5th anniversary fell on April 29, Arbor Day! We enjoyed a wonderful celebration at the Albany Pine Bush Preserve Discovery Center.
As an offshoot of the wood anniversary theme we have made a donation to the Arbor Day Foundation to plant trees with the idea that:
“One generation plants the tree and another gets the shade.” – Chinese Proverb
Many visitors to our office over the past year have brought food for donation to the Food Pantries of the Capital District. As part of our Anniversary Celebration we are giving out cloth grocery bags with the hope that these will be used as a reminder to pick up an extra food item or two for those in our community who are hungry.
This anniversary leads us to reflect on how grateful we are to have enjoyed relationships with a broad spectrum of clients, from retirees to college students. We have been fortunate to share in joyous occasions such as births, new home purchases, marriages, graduations, new jobs, new business launchings and many others! We have also been privileged to help our clients in challenging times such as nursing home placements and passing away of family members. Different stages of life involve different financial decisions and offer a variety of challenges. This profession allows us to share in and celebrate the hopes and aspirations of our clients.
